The Gilbert Electric Eye was a toy kit released in 1937 by the Gilbert Company. The kit contained a wire wound selenium photoconductive cell, a battery, a light bulb, and other components. The user could assemble the kit to create a simple circuit that would turn on the light bulb when exposed to light. The kit contained a wire wound selenium photo conductive cell.
