The Rayfoto voltaic cell is a semi-cylindrical plate of copper coated in cuprous oxide. The cell has an anode made of a strip of lead in a dilute solution of lead nitrate. The cell was sensitive to the entire range of the visible light spectrum. The cell has a very unique feature that when exposed to the yellow to infrared spectrum the cell will change the polarity.
