The Photronic cell was one of the first mass produced barrier layer photovoltaic cells. It found numerous uses and was very popular in light meters for industrial and photographic applications. The cell found so many uses that the Weston Photronic style selenium cells are still produced by Huygen Corporation today. Over 90 years later after it’s first introduction to the market.
