Solarex micro-generators were small, portable solar cells that were used to power a variety of devices, including calculators, watches, and other small portable electronics. They were first introduced in the late 1970s.
The micro-generators were made up of a number of small solar cells that were wired together in a series. The cells were made of silicon and stacked into a shingled array. The cells can be found in many early solar powered electronic devices like the first solar watch, Synchronar 2100 or the Teal Photon solar calculator.
